This plant makes an excellent ground cover. Can also be trimmed to look like a bonsai tree. This cultivar is a very popular version of Juniperus procumbens.

General Description
Juniperus procumbens 'Nana' is a cascading woody evergreen shrub.
Landscape
Can be trained as a bonsai plant. Also makes a good ground cover.
Cultivation
Grow in full sun where the soil is well drained.

Metallic blue-green needles are sharply pointed and arranged in whorls of three.

Brown in colour with little aesthetic value because it is hidden by the needles.

Needle-like, 1 - 1.5 ⨉ 6 - 8 mm, in groups of 3.
Flower Description
Violet and very delicate.
Fruit Description
Cones are subglobose, 8 - 9 mm in diameter, dark black-brown with a pale blue-white, waxy bloom, usually containing two or three seeds. Rarely found on cultivated plants.
Colour Description
Blue-green to grey-green. The bark is dark brown in colour, more blue in the winter and autumn.
Texture Description
Medium to fine.
