An underused tree that is well suited to smaller gardens. Interesting bark, clean leaves through the entire season and attractive flowers and fruit. Should be used more frequently.

General Description
A broad canopied somewhat squat looking tree.
Cultivation
Easy to grow and transplant in good soils, with regular sunlight.

Usually 4-5 carpels found in a capsule that is a dark maroon in colour. Quite showy in late autumn.
