Origin:  Originally patented under the cultivar name of 'Alexandra' (PP10,772), it is now sold under the name Wine and RosesĀ®. Winner of the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society Gold Medal Plant Award in 2000 as well as a Silver Medal from the Boskoop Royal Horticulture Society. The plant was developed by Herman Geers of Holland.

Leaf Description
The leaves are elliptic to obovate, growing to 10 cm in length, beginning glossy and burgundy-purple, turning a very dark purple in autumn.

Flowers appear singly or in clusters, are reddish-pink and funnel-shaped to approximately 3 cm in length, and are very attractive to hummingbirds.
