Abies bornmuelleriana

'Barney'

Barney Turkish Fir

Origin:  Discovered by Ken Franke from New York found as a witches broom on a Christmas tree in Forest Grove, Oregon, it was later introduced into commerce by Talon Buchholz of Buchholz Nursery as Barney in honour of the owner of tree farm. There is confusion around the name as Ken Franke insists that the cultivar take his surname while the introducer insists on using the cultivar name Barney.
