This hardy plant is highly tolerant to harsh conditions and easily maintainable. It lives for 30 years or more. It is full and thick and covered in beautiful, fragrant flowers for the entire growing season. The flowers ability to attract bees, birds and butterflies is an added bonus.

General Description
This hardy deciduous shrub is very tolerant to a variety of soil types. It is deer, small animal and insect resistant. Admired for its brilliant, long lasting flowers.
Shape
Small, full globe shape densely covered with butter-cup shaped flowers.
Growth

ID Characteristic
Bushy, compact globe shaped shrub, with pinnate leaves and full yellow flowers. The buttercup flowers are rich in nectar and aroma attracting butterflies, bees and birds. The green foliage and sandy-brown bark make the beautiful yellow flowers stand out.
Pests
In dry conditions, spider mites can be a problem. Other possibilities are iron chlorosis and powdery mildew. Fertilizing and regular sunlight and water as well as pruning will often prevent these.
Habitat
Horticultural origin.
Bark/Stem Description
Sandy-brown in colour, the bark is thin and strong. As the shrub ages the bark exfoliates and begins to peel.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Clusters dispersed throughout the entire shrub. Light in colour
Leaf Description
Consists of dense clusters 0.5-1.5 cm in size, dark green in colour with tiny hairs outlining the surface. Immediately after frost, the leaves turn brown and fall off.
Flower Description
These desirable flowers are shaped like butter cups and are yellowish-gold in colour. They produce nectar and a sweet aroma. These five-petaled flowers are 3-4 cm wide and saucer like. Formed in dense clusters, they cover the entire shrub.
Fruit Description
Small hard and insignificant. Brown in colour and disputably poisonous. Birds occasionally pick them up.
Colour Description
The soft green foliage and neutral brown bark make the brilliant yellow flowers pop when looking at this shrub. All three colours compliment each other.
Texture Description
This full dense shrub has fine, pillose foliage, exfoliating bark and soft silky flowers. The fruit of this plant are small and hard.
