General Description
A compact deciduous shrub with white blooms that change to pink, finally maturing to strawberry red when temperatures drop in late summer.
Landscape
Works well in a mixed shrub border or as a lawn specimen or accent that adds late summer interest.
Cultivation
Grow in full sun or partial shade in a rich, well-drained, medium-moisture soil. Prune in late winter or early spring as bloom occurs on the current season's growth.

Leaf Description
Leaves are dark green, ovate to oval and upright, tending to be sharply pointed.
Flower Description
Flowers grow on terminal panicles to 18 x 13 cm, emerging white, becoming pink and finally maturing to strawberry red. As new blooms emerge in late summer, joining the mature flowers, the plant produces a multicoloured effect. Flowers are sterile.
Texture Description
Somewhat coarse.
Propagation
Propagate through hardwood stem or tip cuttings, or from leaf bud cuttings of the current season's growth.
