General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
Habitat
Temperate forests in mountain valleys and along stream banks at an altitude of 1,000-2,600 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Dark grey with dark brown branchlets.
Leaf Description
Ovate-lancolate, ovate-elliptic or oblong, with a rounded or subcordate base and 12-16 lateral veins on either side, 2.5-7x2-2.5 cm.
Flower Description
Female inflorescence, 4-7x2.5-3 cm.
Fruit Description
Glabrous, broad and ovoid, 3x2.5 mm nutlet, produced July through September.
