This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
Habitat
Subtropical forests at an altitude of 1,200-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Dark grey with glabrescent purplish-red branchlets.
Leaf Description
Elliptic, oblong, oblong-lanceolate or ovate-lanceiolate, with a cordite or obliquely cordite base and 14-16 lateral veins on either side, 7-14x4.5-6 cm.
Flower Description
Female inflorescence, 10-14 cm.
Fruit Description
Triangular-ovoid or broadly ovoid, pubescent and ribbed nutlet, 5-6 mm, produced July through September.
