Medium moisture, well drained, acidic soil in full sun to partial shade.

Smooth, light to dark brown in colour with ascending branches.

Contain ovoid inflorescences, 3-5x3-4 mm.
Leaf Description
Vibrant green leaves, narrowly elliptic to ovate which turn to dull shades of yellow in autumn, 4-10x3.5-12 cm.

Catkins laterally along branches, clustered in 2-3, 4-6x0.5-0.8 cm.
Fruit Description
Nuts clustered in 2-6, enclosed by bristly bracts.
