This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Valleys in montane forests at an altitude of 1,300-2,300 m.

Yellowish-brown to dark brown and smooth with thin, glabrous branchlets
Leaf Description
Tufts of yellow hair at the vein axils, a truncate or subcordate base with 5-7 oblong-ovate or ovate lobes, 9-11 x 11-13 cm.
Flower Description
5-petaled white flowers with 5 purple sepals and 8 stamens.
Fruit Description
Yellowish glabrous fruit produced July through September. Winged nutlets 2.5-3 x 1-1.5cm.
