This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Mountainous evergreen forests at an altitude of 200-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Glabrescent and hairless twigs.
Leaf Description
Oblong-elliptic, 11-13 thin and curved secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a cuneate to subrounded base, 6-13 x 2.5-4 cm.
Fruit Description
Globose acorn, 2 cm in diameter. Oblate nut, 1.5-2 x 2 cm, produced August though December.
