General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Evergreen montane forests at an altitude of 900-1,000 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Glabrous twigs, whitish in colour.
Leaf Description
Thin, glossy green with a greyish-green underside, a broad cuneate base and 9-12 secondary veins on either side of the midvein.
Flower Description
Female inflorescence, 2-6 cm in length.
Fruit Description
Oblate acorn, 2-2.5 cm, produced in September.
