General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Mountains in mixed mesophytic forests at an altitude of 800-1,300 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Thin, dark purple twigs.
Leaf Description
Elliptic, green with a whitish underside, a cuneate base and 8-10 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 5-8 x 1.5-3 cm.
Flower Description
Male inflorescences, 2-5 cm in length.
Fruit Description
Acorn, ovoid, 0.9-1.3 x 0.7-1 cm.
