Landscape
Rock, cottage/informal gardens, beds and borders.
Cultivation
Full sun and partial-shade. Moist but well-drained soil with a pH of 6.1 - 7.8 (mildly acidic, neutral and alkaline). Prefers loamy, sandy and chalky soils.

Upright, clump-forming and branching.

Caterpillars, slugs, snails and leaf-mining sawflies. Black blotch of Delphinium, crown rot and powdery mildew.
Habitat
Grassy slopes and alpine meadows.
Leaf Description
Deeply fine cut leaves with toothed margins.
Flower Description
Stems branching with lose spikes of flowers on long peduncles. 1.5 3 cm long (spur longer than sepals).
Colour Description
Flowers are blue to mauve in colour with the upper petals having a yellowish tint. The foliage is dark green in colour.

Propagation
Seed. Direct sow outdoors in autumn. Winter sow in vented containers, cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Stratify if sowing indoors.
