A rare Magnolia that grows naturally in isolated forests in Yunnan, China and Thailand to Vietnam.

Grown in rich, organic, moist but moderately-draining loamy soils in partial to full sun. Water moderately. Generally intolerant of extreme soil conditions and urban pollutants.
