General DescriptionIris 'Thornbird' is a tall bearded iris, a herbaceous, rhizomatous perennial with yellow, white and purple blooms.
ID CharacteristicUp to 6 flowers per stem, growing up to 1 m tall.
PropagationBy division of rhizomes anytime from the middle of summer to early autumn.
CultivationGrow in full sun, in well-drained, acidic to neutral soil containing loam. Cut down flowered stems and remove dying foliage in autumn.
PestsPossible problems include: slugs, snails, thrips,iris borer, leaf spot and iris rhizome rot.
