Description and Growing Information

ShapeShrub or small tree.
PropagationPropagate through greenwood or semi-ripe cuttings in a shaded case with bottom heat, or by simple layering in mid summer or early autumn.
CultivationGrow in a well-drained, humus-rich, fertile soil in full sun, with mulch protection at the roots and use a warm shelter wall in areas at the limit of the hardiness zone. Little regular pruning is necessary.
PestsMay become infested by mealybugs, greenhouse whitefly, soft scale, or the peach potato aphid. In dry or cold conditions, bud drop may occur.
Bark/Stem DescriptionSpreading, glabrate branches.
Leaf DescriptionLeaves grow from 7-16 cm, are broadly orvate to suborbicular, unlobed, leathery, and green, with 1-5 glands at the base of the vein underneath.
Flower DescriptionFlowers are solitary in the upper leaf axils, with overlapping petals 4-7 cm in length, yellow or white in colour with a red to brown-red base.
