General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
PropagationFrom seeds and grafting.
HabitatMountain valley forests at an altitude of 300-3000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionFissured, yellowish-brown in colour with skin pubescent grey branches.
Leaf DescriptionOblong-lanceolate, obovate-oblong or lanceolate, an obliquely cordite or surrounded base with 8-10 lateral veins on either side of the mid vein, 6-9x3-5 cm.
Flower DescriptionMale inflorescence, cylindric clustered in groups of 2-8, 2-6 cm. Female flowers are clustered in groups of 2-4.
Fruit DescriptionNuts, ovoid-globose, surrounded by brackets, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, produced July through August.
