Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionWith less than 100 mature individuals remaining, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as endangered.
HabitatSouth-east Yunnan in forests and along rivers at an altitude of 300-1,200 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionMature twigs are grey and pubescent ti glabrescent, while young twigs are blackish grey in colour.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic, obovate-elliptic or obovate, thin with 12-16 secondary veins on either side of the mid vein and a cuneate to obtuse base, 9-18 x 2.2-2.6cm.
Fruit DescriptionOvoid to long globose, 3.5-7 x 2.5-4.5 cm, produced August through September.
