Trillium chloropetalum
Common Trillium, Giant or Sessile Trillium
Origin:  West coast of the United States of America. The genus name comes from the Greek word 'tris', meaning thrice, in reference to both leaves and parts of the flower existing in threes.

Regardless of common name I see this plant rarely grown in the gardens which is unfortunate. A wonderful plant for the woodland garden but best grown in large groups for full effect.
