Clerodendrum bungei
Glory Flower
"
I have this plant growing in my own garden and it is both a curse and a pleasure. It is a pleasure because of the very late blooms and rich glossy foliage. It is often a race with the frost to enjoy the blooms in my Canadian 6a zone garden. The plant is a curse however since it travels quite easily in my light sandy soils, this warrants its execution quite frequently where it has intervened in groupings of other plants. That said it is easily removed with a good tug. It has an unpleasant smell to the foliage and bloom, especially when crushed or bruised.
