Origin:  Native to the Muskoa region of Ontario, Canada. Named after Fred Case a member of the Ontario Rock Garden Society and author of the "Orchids of the Western Great Lakes Region".

Found growing in full sun to partially shaded areas on dry sites such as on top of sandstone bluffs and jack-pine barrens. It has a fairly common distribution in its native range.
