General Description
Echinocereus reichenbachii is a low-growing shrubby cactus whose narrow ribs are covered with elliptic to linear areoles bearing white spines.
Cultivation
Grow in full sun and low humidity, in standard cactus compost with a pH of 6 - 7.5, containing medium to high inorganic content (more than half grit). Do not water during the winter months, from mid-autumn to early spring. Lightly mist on warm days in late winter.

It thrives in a variety of sites and soils, often found growing out of cracks in solid rock near the deserts of Mexico.
Leaf Description
Areoles bear 12 - 40 white spines that are mostly short, arranged like the teeth of a comb.
Flower Description
5 - 12 ⨉ 6 - 16 cm, funnel-shaped, with many pink to purple tepals (petals and sepals are undifferentiated).
Fruit Description
Green, 1.5 - 3 cm, globose to ovoid. Seeds are black-brown or brown.
