Tolerant of some frost, requires full sun and well-drained rich soil and an abundance of water.

The trunk is stout and is covered in leaf scars from self-pruning, irregularly ringed.
Fruit Description
Haning down in bunches the fruit ripen to brown-black, 2.5 cm in diamter with an edible though thin, sweet pulp; seed is 18 mm in diameter.
Propagation
Seed germinates erraticaly.
