General Description |
In 1993 this tree was discovered on Mount Japfu in India. The tree holds the Guinness Record for the tallest Rhododendron at 32 metres. It was measured at the time of discovery but is still growing. |

Grows best in well drained, moist soils and partial sun. |
Habitat |
Found in various altitudes and in dense forest areas. |
Leaf Description |
The broad, dark green leaves are 10-20 cm long. The underside of the leaves are silvery. |
Flower Description |
In the spring 15-20 bell-shaped flowers grow, reaching 5-6 cm long and 5 cm wide. They are dark pink to ruby red. |
