General Description
This spreading shrub has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
Habitat
Acidic rocky slopes and barrens, stream banks, summits and arctic and alpine tundra at an altitude of 0-3,400 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Smooth and dark brown in colour.
Leaf Description
Obovate to orbicular, rounded at its base with 2-6 lateral veins on either side, 0.5-3 x 1-2.5 cm.
Flower Description
Cylindric infructescences 1-2.5 x 0.5-1.2, producing fruit in autumn.
