Habitat
Forests on sunny mountain slopes at an altitude of 200-2,900 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Smooth, dark brown in colour with yellow-brown branchlets.
Leaf Description
Elliptic and alternate with 12-14 lateral veins on either side and a rounded base.
Flower Description
Pendulous, narrow and cylindric female inflorescence, 3-9 cm x 6-10 mm.
Fruit Description
Obovate and slightly pubescent 2mm nutlet with wings 1/2 its width, produced June through August.
Texture Description
Hard and finely textured.
