Landscape
Open woodland gardens, as a screen or as a shrub rear boarder.
Cultivation
Medium, well drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Root sucker removal will aid in the plants appearance.

Smooth, greyish brown in colour.
Leaf Description
Dark green, ovate and double toothed. Leaves change to a variety of colour combinations during autumn; orange, rose, purplish red, yellow and green to a dull yellowish green.

Nuts are enclosed in a hairy husk, green when young browning as they mature.
