General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
Habitat
Moist mountain slopes in forests at an altitude of 1,200-3,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Fissured, greyish-brown in colour with thin purplish-brown branchlets.
Leaf Description
Ovate, ovate-elliptic or obovate-elliptic, a obliquely cordite base and 7-12 lateral veins on either side of the mid vein, 8-18x6-12 cm.
Flower Description
Female inflorescences, cylindric and clustered in 2-6, 1.5-2 cm.
Fruit Description
Ovoid-globose nut which is surrounded by bracts, glabrous and 1-1.5 cm in diameter.
