General Description
This species which occupies an area of 444 km, has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Mixed forests in southern Yunnan at an altitude of 1,000-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Rough dark grey to dark brown bark with glabrous branchlets purplish brown when young and mature to a dark brown or dark grey.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Ovoid buds with ciliate scales.
Leaf Description
Green, ovate-oblong or oblong-elliptic, an obtuse or broadly cuneate base with 7-9 pairs of veins, 8-14x3-4 cm.
Fruit Description
Yellowish brown fruit, produced in September and convex winged nutelts, 1x1.4 cm.
