General Description
This species, occupying an area of only 1,386 km, has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Mixed forests in south-west Guizhou and south-east Yunnan at an altitude of 1,000-1,800 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Dark grey in colour with thin glabrous branches.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Ovoid with ovate scales.
Leaf Description
Ovate with 6-7 lateral veins on either side of the mid vein and a rounded base, 6-7 x 3-4.5 cm.
Flower Description
Unknown.
Fruit Description
Red samaras 2.3 cm and convex winged nutlets, produced in September.
