General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern and has been listed as vulnerable in China.
Habitat
Mixed forests, thickets, along river banks and thickets at an altitude of 500-2,500 m.

Light greyish-brown bark with few fissures.

Conical with 2-3 pairs of scales.
Leaf Description
Suborbicular, thin, 5-7 broadly ovate lobes and a truncate or subcordate base, 10-12 x 7-9 cm.

5-petaled flowers clustered on 10-12 cm racemes.
Fruit Description
Flat winged nutlets, 1.5-2 cm x 6 mm, produced in September.
