General Description
With no more than 50 mature individuals within a distribution area of only 1,910 km, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered.
Habitat
Evergreen forests at an altitude of 1,000 - 1,200 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Dark grey in colour.
Leaf Description
Elliptic or obovate-elliptic, thick, 8 - 10 secondary veins on either side of the mid vein with a cuneate to narrowly cuneate base, 8 - 12 x 2.5 - 4.5 cm.
Flower Description
Pale yellow with dark red filaments.
Fruit Description
Obovoid, 3 - 4 cm, produced in September.
