General Description
Not common with small populations, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Valleys and mountains at an altitude of 300-2,300 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Yellowish grey branchlets.
Leaf Description
Elliptic, elliptic-lanceolate or obovate, rounded base, toothed with 7-11 secondary veins on either side of the midvein and pubescent, greyish green in colour with a yellowish underside, 2-6 x 1-2.5 cm.
Fruit Description
Ellipsoid nut, 1.5 mm, covered with yellow hairs, yellowish-grey in colour, produced September through October.
