Habitat
Igneous slopes at an altitude of 500-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Scaled and furrowed grey bark with light brown twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Ovoid or globose, brown or reddish-brown, 1-1.5 mm.
Leaf Description
Ovate or oblong, thick, glabrous, alternate teeth with a cordate base and 5-8 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 1.5-3.5 x 1-2 cm.
Fruit Description
Singular or paired acorns, with brown scales, 3-4 x 6-8 mm. Oblong to ovoid nut, 12-15x 5-8 mm.
