Habitat
Pine forests and along streams at an altitude of 0-200 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Scaly brown bark with light brown twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Ovoid, reddish brown and slightly pubescent, 2-3 mm.
Leaf Description
Obovate or oblanceolate, dark green, glossy, 3-5 ovate or triangular lobes with a cuneate base and 6-8 curved secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 5-10 x 2-6 cm.
Fruit Description
Acorns, singular or paired, 2-10 mm, with an ovoid light brown, glabrous nut.
