General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red list as globally threatened.
Habitat
Found at altitudes of 1,700-2,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Rough, fissured and blackish in colour with thin, glabrous twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Ovate, light brown, 2 mm in length.
Leaf Description
Oblong-lanceolate ot oval, greyish-green with a whitish-green underside, 6-8 secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a cordate or rounded base, 2-5 x 1-2 cm.
Fruit Description
Acorn with grey hairs, 1 cm in length.
