General Description
With small, fragmented populations and less than 1,000 individuals remaining, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Forests with rich, moist soils at an altitude of 0-200 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Scaly and pale grey.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Globose, reddish-brown, 2-2.5 mm in length.
Leaf Description
Elliptic to oblanceolate, a yellow midrib, 3-5 secondary veins on either side of the midvein with a cuneate or cordate base, 5-13 x 2-4 cm.
Fruit Description
Ovoid, dark brown acorn, 1.6-2 cm in length.
