General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Habitat
Dry oak and pine-oak forests at an altitude of 1,060-1,600 m.
Bark/Stem Description
Rough yellowish-grey to blackish bark, with pinkish-brown hairless twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description
Oval, 2-3 mm in length.
Leaf Description
Oblong-elliptic or oboval, with a rounded or subcordate base, glossy, wavy with 15-20 secondary veins on either side of the midvein.
Flower Description
Inflorescences 4-8 cm in length.
Fruit Description
Singular or grouped in 2-3, acorns, 1.2-1.7 cm.
