Rough, dark brown, exfoliating in to square plates with reddish-brown glabrous twigs.

Pointed and pubescent, 3-6 mm in length.
Leaf Description
Ovate, elliptical or lanceolate, thick, a pointed apex, rounded, subcordate or attenuate base, glabrous olive green and 4-11 veins on either side of the midvein, 5-10 x 2-6 cm.
Flower Description
Male catkins, 4-11 cm in length.
Fruit Description
Acorn, ovoid, singular or in groups up to 4, 1-2 cm.
