General Description
A slow-growing, suckering shrub that seldom branches and rarely flowers.
Landscape
Strong tropical effect. Accent, specimen, silhouette, barrier or container plant, en masse, near swimming pools, in courtyards, rock gardens, as an impenetrable hedge and coastal shoreline areas.
Cultivation
Grow in full sun to partial shade in a free draining, organically enriched, open sandy soil with a pH 6.1 – 7.5, mildly acidic to neutral. Does not do well in the hotter drier interior regions unless beside a water body or in a lawn.

Growing into multiple heads creating a canopy, reaching heights to 5 m. With gold stripe foliage.

Leaf Description
Rosettes of arching, linear, minutely spiny yellow leaves, 50 - 75 cm long, becoming green with pale yellow stripes when mature.
Flower Description
Male and female flowers lack petals and are borne on separate plants. Female flowers resemble small pineapples when fertilized.
Colour Description
A showy golden stripe down the leaf centre leaf with tough, toothed foliage that forms a spiralling rosette.
