Malus ‘Snowcloud’ is an excellent tree to use in small gardens as it provides excellent shade and accent. It is very popular among bees and birds. It is used in the landscape in parking lots, parks and malls but should not be planted near road ways as falling fruit and low hanging branches may cause hazards for drivers. The beautiful white flowers in late may show where ‘Snowcloud’ gets its name. The small 2” in diameter pomes stay attached through most of winter, which I think can hide the un-attractive, rough, grey brown colored bark.
