Origin:  Common to the Mediterranean region. Found in Israel including the following areas: Golan, Gallilee, Mediterranean coast, Upper Jordan valley, Carmel, Samarian mountains, Samarian desert, Judean mountains, Judean desert and Dead Sea valley, Sharon, Shefela, Northern Negev, Negev hills and Eilat, Valley.

Flower Description
Each flower is 5-12 mm wide with six tepals which are generally white or very pale pink with a neat central longitudinal stripe of brown to reddish-purple. The flowers are diurnal, closing at night and in overcast or low-light weather conditions.
Fruit Description
The fruit is a rounded capsule containing six seeds.
