General Description
Hosta 'Fire and Ice' is one of the more elegant looking of its Genus, a herbaceous perennial whose leaves are cream with dark green, irregular margins and star-shaped, pale lavender, tubular flowers.
Cultivation
Grow in part to full shade, in moist, well-drained soil.

ID Characteristic
Scape is white and purple-dotted toward the raceme. When seed pods are produced, they are greenish-white with occasional purple lines. Forms a taller clump than most hostas.
Pests
Susceptible to slugs and snails. Deer also enjoy eating the leaves.
Habitat
Horticultural origin.
Leaf Description
Cream to ivory with wide and irregular, dark green margins. Blade measures 15 x 10 cm.
Flower Description
Tubular, pale lavender petals with pointed tips form a six pointed star.
