General Description
A great plant for rock gardens/low maintenance gardens. Under ideal conditions, it can live up to 50 years old. Beautiful emerald green colour.
Landscape
Used for foundation plantings, hedges and great for rock gardens.
Cultivation
Grow in healthy fertile soil, with adequate moisture, humus rich that is well drained. With proper soil conditions it is more tolerant to insect.

Low dense multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with rounded form.

A dense evergreen shrub that can grow up to 15-31 cm tall with a spread of 1.2 m. Buds are cylindrical about 1 cm long and resinous.

Bark/Stem Description
The twigs are green, but become brown during the second season. Hairless with prominent ridges and grooves. Bark is a dark grey and scaly.

Reddish-brown scale tips are pressed against buds, resinous.
Leaf Description
Needles are in fasciles of 2, usually 3-6 cm long curved and somewhat twisted. They are also stiff, pointed and dark green. Edges are finely toothed, bundle sheath persistent with needles 10 mm long.
Flower Description
Insignificant, monoecious.
Fruit Description
Seed cones are ovoid, shiny yellowish-brown to dark brown, 3-6 cm, short stalked, in small clusters found at annual nodes; they are almost at right angles to the branches. Scales have a dark brown ring surrounding prickle at tip.
Colour Description
Dark green foilage, bark is dark grey.
Texture Description
Slightly course.
