Leaf Description
Oboval, rounded lobes, dark green and rough with a pubescent underside, a attenuate, narrow or heart-shaped base and 4-10 veins on either side of the midvein, 15-30 x 6-20 cm. Dead leaves often stay on the tree into the winter. The petiole is short and hairy, 1-1.5 cm long.
Flower Description
Male flowers are pendulous catkins, female flowers are sessile, growing near the tips of new shoots.
Fruit Description
Acorn, ovoid and hairless, 1.5-2.2 cm.
