General Description
Lobelia cardinalis 'Queen Victoria' is a clumping, herbaceous perennial with tall erect stalks bearing terminal clusters of vivid red flowers.
Landscape
Use in a perennial border or bed to add height and late summer colour. Also good for woodland and wild gardens and in wet areas such as near ponds and streams.
Cultivation
Grow in part shade, in medium to wet, rich, humusy soil. Requires consistently wet soil. Tolerates full sun in cool, northern climates. If needed, clumps can be divided in spring.

Alternate, dark reddish-purple, lanceolate.
Flower Description
Showy, tubular with 2 lips: lower lip is prominently tri-lobed, upper lip has two narrow lobes, all vividly red, in terminal racemes on tall, erect, unbranched stalks.
Colour Description
Stem and leaves are reddish-purple and blooms are a deep, saturated red.
