Landscape
Garden planting.
Cultivation
Full sun and partial-shade. Moist and well-drained soil.
Habitat
Found in non-wetlands, on footpaths, trails, disturbed sites, especially in poor compacted soil or gravel.
Leaf Description
Pinnately dissected and sweet scent when crushed. Stem is branching from top and glabrous at top.
Flower Description
Single, flower-head is cone-shaped composed of dense packed corollas and lacking ray-florets.
Fruit Description
3 - 4 ridged and 1 - 2 mm long. Achene, tip with shallow crown-like membranous rings (pappus).
Colour Description
The leaves are green. The flower-heads are a yellowish-green. The fruit is brown.
Ethnobotanical Uses (Disclaimer)
Edible and have been used in salads and to make herbal tea. It has been used for medicinal purposes in relief of gastrointestinal upset, infected sores, fevers and postpartum anemia.
