General Description
Catmint may cause mature cats to roll around for several minutes in it, this reaction is caused by a volatile oil in the plant called nepetalactone which is fund in the highest concentrations in N. cataria species. It is thought that the chemical affects pathways in the brain that control both behavioural and sexual reactions.
