Origin:  Native to USSR (Caucasus), Turkey, northern Iran and Iraq and Lebanon. The genus is named after Count Apollo Apollosovich Mussin-Pushkin (1805), a Russian chemist and plant collector.

General Description
Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica is a bulbous perennial herb with 2 - 3 long, basal, strap-shaped leaves from which rises an erect stalk with a spike of star-shaped pale blue flowers with darker striping.

Green, up to 15 ⨉ 0.5 cm, 2 or 3, basal, narrowly strap-shaped.
Flower Description
Flowers consist of 6 pale blue, sometimes white petals each with a darker central stripe, perianths are tubular. In loose racemes on leafless, erect stalks 5 - 20 cm long.
Fruit Description
Tri-valved, spherical capsules.
